Dr. Harris obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Pace College, and then proceeded to Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she was awarded the Rudin Scholarship and earned an MD degree. She has also attained post-graduate training at the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) and is certified in Bio-Identical Hormone pellet Replacement Therapy.

An internship in Internal Medicine at Harlem Hospital Center was followed by a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the New York Hospital, Weill Cornell, where she was the Administrative Chief Resident in her final year of the residency.

Dr. Harris was the Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Council’s Ambulatory Health Care Center, and provided primary care for Obstetrics and Gynecology patients at Upper Harlem Medical Associates. She subsequently opened her own private practice, Woman to Woman Medical Services, where she saw patients for many years. On discontinuing the practice of Obstetrics, she continued Gynecology, incorporating holistic and integrative complementary modalities. Out of that was born The Life Balance Center of New York.

Dr. Harris was affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical Center, as an Attending Physician and an instructor in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where she led the Minority Summer Research Fellowship Program. Dr. Harris received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Pace University in 1993.
